July in Shafter, Texas finds a road in and out of the mine site nearly complete. The foundation and infrastructure is in for new mine office complex. Progress on the mine portal continues and soon miners will be working underground. Current employee count up to 40 at full time, up from 3 in January.
Shafter - June, 2011 Photos
June in Shafter, Texas, saw blazing hot temperatures but much building and progress nonetheless. Experienced miners and trainees cannot wait to get underground!
In photos below you'll see a cell tower put in by Verizon, the cement mixing plant as well as the foundation for the silver processing mill. You'll also see safety training led by Steve Lambert, Mine Superintendent, and Joe Chavez, Miner Trainer. Steve Lambert recent won a top lifetime achievement award from the state of Nevada for mine safety and preparedness. The Shafter Mine development is on schedule and on budget.
